School projects: environmental education and training with rafting

T-Rafting offers innovative educational paths for primary and secondary schools, integrating outdoor activities with theoretical training.

Through rafting, students discover the territory, environment and river history, with a multidisciplinary approach involving subjects such as science, technology, history and sports.
Since 2016, the “Discover Your River” project has been active throughout Tuscany, offering an immersive educational experience, thanks to the MIUR – Italian Rafting Federation agreement, which recognizes training credits for students and teachers.

T-Rafting’s educational activities combine theory and practice, with classroom lectures and river descents for direct and engaging learning.

Multidisciplinary experience

Rafting becomes an educational medium to deepen:

  • Environmental science: study of river ecosystems, flora and fauna, water quality and ecology.
  • Technology: use of river motive power for mills, paper mills and ancient factories.
  • Territorial history: river trade, freight transport in antiquity, and land use.
  • Sports and inclusion: teamwork, coordination, crew management, and social integration.

Program and training modules

The training modules vary according to the school level and educational needs of the institutions.

The training is part of the updating plan provided by L.107/2015, allowing teachers to take advantage of the days provided by the CCNL for recognized training activities.

Forms
for Students

  • Basic Module: introduction to river ecosystems, environmental impact, water safety.
  • Advanced Module: Navigation techniques, land-use study and historical development of the river.
  • Complete Course: Combines theory, educational workshop and rafting for an immersive experience.

  • River experience to experience firsthand the educational value of rafting.
