Rafting on the Elsa River is a guided river excursion that allows you to explore the Upper Elsa Valley River Park in Tuscany aboard inflatable canoes and lightweight river craft. Thanks to the calm waters of the Elsa River, this experience is ideal for families with children, groups, schools, and anyone wishing to enjoy nature in a safe and relaxing way.

The activity is led by Environmental Hiking Guides (GAE) certified by the Tuscany Region, who share the natural features of the protected area through environmental education and interpretation throughout the excursion. Along the route, you will have the opportunity to observe the local flora, fauna, and the distinctive limestone formations that make this ecosystem so unique.

The route is designed to have minimal environmental impact, respecting the natural balance of the Upper Elsa Valley ANPIL protected area while promoting sustainable tourism. It is the ideal outdoor experience in Tuscany for those looking to combine nature, discovery of the local area, and fun.

Program

Step 1 - Gathering. . .

Meet at San Marziale to be fitted with a helmet and buoyancy aid, followed by an initial safety briefing.

Step 2 - Departure. . .

Boarding below the Diborrato waterfall, followed by a guided rafting descent of approximately 900 metres to San Giorgio.

Step 3 - During. . .

Educational stops for the scientific observation of local flora and fauna, led by certified GAE guides, with the opportunity for a refreshing swim.

Step 4-Return. . .

Landing at San Giorgio. The equipment will be collected by our support vehicles, and participants will return on foot along the SentierElsa nature trail.

Yes, it is designed just for those who are approaching this type of activity for the first time. No difficult rapids are present.

It is recommended, but all participants wear flotation devices and are always accompanied by guides.

What happens if it rains or the river is too low?

The activity will be postponed or refunded. We always check river conditions before each outing.
